Uncovering Performance Problems Using SQL Server’s Plan Cache

  • In-Person @ Lansing, Michigan, United States (map)
  • 17:30 - 19:30 (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)
  • Language: English

Session Title: Uncovering Performance Problems Using SQL Server’s Plan Cache

Abstract: The plan cache in SQL Server contains a great deal of information beyond just the execution plans themselves.  This information can be used to find problem spots in your code or help determine what is eating all the resources.  Using the plan cache can also give visibility into blind spots that many monitoring tools have.  This demo rich session will show you how to use the plan cache DMVs to gather this useful data.

Speaker Bio: Corey Dollman-Jersey is a senior software engineer for Plex Systems.  He has developed web applications using the Microsoft stack for over 8 years.  Corey’s primary focus is on system performance with a concentration on SQL Server.  In his free time, Corey enjoys spending time with his family of four (soon to be five!), sailing, and wood working.
