Today’s global web applications require scale and reliability that was nearly impossible to achieve prior to the growth of the public cloud. Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB is a cloud-based, multi-model, planet-scale NoSQL database service that provides lightning-fast data access and massive throughput and scale all while providing global availability and guaranteed uptime. Join this session where we will provide an overview of this service and discuss how NoSQL differs from traditional databases.

Speaker Bio:
Chris Campbell is a Cloud Solution Architect for Data and Advanced Analytics at Microsoft. He helps customers envision and architect data management, analytics and big data solutions on the Azure cloud platform. His background and specific areas of interest include data architecture, data warehouses and data lakes and relational database platforms, the Apache Hadoop ecosystem including Microsoft HDInsight and Microsoft AI, machine learning and analytics technologies
